beachtime!

It's amazing how invigorating it is to watch the tide wash the sand. Early last night the beach was covered with footprints and all kind of trash from the previous day - until the rising tide came in last night and washed everything clean. This morning as the sun came up it seemed as if no one had set foot in the space that just hours before had been covered by humanity.  The tide has an amazing capacity to clean and renew.

God was there this morning. The song says "morning by morning new mercies I see." Every day is a new opportunity to enjoy the fresh mercy and goodness of God... God comes in and washes our gritty lives and leaves an empty beach just waiting to be filled with activity, life, and relationships.

I know the folks over in the Gulf Coast wish it was that easy this morning. With all the crude oil washing up on their sand - the level of frustration and despair rises. A level of anger also rises as they wonder why no one comes to help clean up the mess.  Maybe that's an analogy of why the church exists in the world today. Sometimes our lives are so bruised or tarnished we just need a little help to get them restored. God is moving- washing - reclaiming with all the power available- but then he also calls His people to come with their hands and hearts to make a difference.  He is calling you and me to join in the cleansing process so that His fresh mercy can be experienced by everyone.

Don't miss your call today. God has given you extraordinary gifts to help reclaim the lives of others for the Kingdom. What a great purpose! What a great opportunity.
