GCUMC is a church that strives to live by its mission statement: “Guilford College UMC is committed to be a people growing in Christian Faith, caring for one another, and reaching out with God’s message of hope and salvation.” Ours is a church that wants to grow. We are not ashamed to tell anyone that we want more and more people to be a part of our fellowship. But, we want to grow because people feel that in this place they have found a spiritual home, a place where they feel the presence of God in their lives and where they can learn to serve God in a fulfilling fashion.

We also want to be a church that, even though large in size, people never feel that they are lost in the crowd. Our church desires to offer the many opportunities of a large church combined with the intimacy of small church setting. The pastors and staff of the church are ready to service you in both time of crisis and joy, as together we learn to become more effective servants of God’s Kingdom.
